Mexican Cultural Center.
Two years on film.

A recurring partnership with the Mexican Cultural Center of Philadelphia, covering one of the largest public celebrations of Mexican heritage on the East Coast.

The client

Mexican Cultural Center of Philadelphia.

The MCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1994 and dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican heritage across Philadelphia. Its signature event, the Mexican Independence Day Festival at Penn's Landing, has run for 25 consecutive years and drew roughly 13,000 attendees in 2024. The Center works in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia, Independence Blue Cross, and the PECO Multicultural Series. They trusted us to put two of those years on film.

The goal

Capture the scale, the joy, and the sponsors who showed up.

The MCC needed event films that did three things at once: honor the cultural weight of the day for the community, document the scale at Penn's Landing for funders and the city, and showcase the brands and institutions whose support makes the festival possible. Same brief every year, raised bar every year.

What we did

Two consecutive years, side by side.

2024

The 2024 Mexican Independence Day Festival, our first year on the project. Roughly 13,000 attendees at Penn's Landing across a single Sunday. Full-day coverage of the parade, performances by regional Mexican dance troupes and mariachi, the official "El Grito de Independencia" ceremony led by the Consul of Mexico, the food markets, and the fireworks finale. Delivered as a hero film for the Center plus shortcuts for sponsor recap reels.

2025

The 2025 return, the 25th anniversary edition of the festival. Bigger crew, more cameras, more deliverables. We added vertical recap reels for the MCC's social channels and a sponsor-facing edit each major partner (Independence Blue Cross, PECO, the Consulate) could repost on their own brand pages. WHYY, NBC10, AL DÍA, and Visit Philadelphia all covered the day.

Results

A 25-year institution, filmed two years running.

The Center now treats us as the de-facto film partner for its signature festival. Our work has been reposted by sponsors, civic institutions, and the Mexican consulate, and ran alongside coverage from Philadelphia's biggest local press.
