Legacy Church.

Legacy Church is a non-denominational, multi-generational church planted in North Wilmington, Delaware, at 2220 Shipley Road. Founders had spent 18 years in ministry together before being called to Wilmington, the largest city in Delaware (population 70,000+), to plant a life-giving church. The official launch was fall 2023. They hired us to build the film that introduced the church to the city.

The goal

Introduce a brand-new church to its city.

Most church launch videos are flat: a logo, a Sunday time, a smiling pastor. Legacy needed a piece that did the harder work, telling the founders' own story in a way that felt human, hopeful, and inviting to people who had never set foot in a church. The brief was: make the trailer for a chapter that hasn't been written yet.

What we did

Yearbook framing. Second-chapter promise.

We opened with a yearbook metaphor: best dressed, class clown, most likely to succeed, the hopes we had for ourselves at 17. The founders use that as the on-ramp to their own story (Bible college, marriage, 18 years of ministry together) and the new chapter God placed on their hearts in Wilmington. We close on the line that became the church's tagline: "Your story's not over."

The deliverable: a launch film built to live on the church's homepage, social channels, and projected at the first Sunday service.

Results

The film that opened the doors.

Legacy Church used the film as its primary launch asset across social, web, and in-person events in the lead-up to the November 2023 opening service. Two years on, the church is operating Sundays at 10am on Shipley Road, and the film remains the official "About" piece on legacychurchde.com.
